My fine art practise is focused on the natural world and considers the place of nature in our lives through drawing.

At a time when the existence of our natural environment is facing some of it's greatest challenges,

my drawing aims to convey something of the strength and beauty of nature. The drawings are informed by the unique characteristics of birds, trees and landscape through the medium of charcoal.

​

Charcoal is a wonderfully receptive and immediate drawing tool. I find its versatility a joy to work with.  

The charcoal informs the sense and feeling of the drawings as they emerge.
